The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) has opened a public comment period for the Connecticut 2055 Long-Range Transportation Plan, a roadmap for developing the state's transportation system over the next three decades. CTDOT will hold two virtual public meetings on April 24, 2025, at 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. to provide an overview and gather feedback.

The plan, according to Commissioner Garrett Eucalitto, will be "a visionary plan for all transportation users in our state." Eucalitto emphasized that Connecticut 2055 would focus on safety, economic growth, mobility, community connectivity, and enhancing lives through a multimodal system.

Public comments are being accepted during a 45-day period starting April 9, 2025. Feedback can be submitted via email at DOT.LongRangePlan@ct.gov, by phone at 860-594-2020, or online at portal.ct.gov/LongRangeTransportation. The deadline for comments is May 23, 2025.

Registration is required for the virtual meetings, which will include informational presentations followed by Q&A sessions. Recorded sessions will be accessible online in English and Spanish. For those with limited internet access, the meetings can be accessed by phone, and project information can be requested by mail.

Provisions have been made for individuals with disabilities, with services such as Telecommunications Relay Services and language assistance available upon request. Requests should be made at least five business days before the meetings.

For updates on the Connecticut 2055 Long-Range Transportation Plan, the public is encouraged to visit the plan's dedicated webpage.
