The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) has announced a virtual public information meeting to discuss the replacement of Bridge No. 06680 on Route 219 over an unnamed brook in Granby. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. and will be held via Zoom. Registration is required for participation.
The purpose of the meeting is to give the public and local community a chance to provide comments or ask questions about the proposed project. Following the presentation, there will be a question and answer session which will also be recorded. For details on how to access the meeting or submit feedback, visit https://portal.ct.gov/DOTGranby55-148.
Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager Francisco Fadul explained that “the project upgrades the bridge with a new box culvert, headwalls, and wingwalls—improving fish passage and better controlling water flow.” He encouraged public attendance to ensure community feedback is incorporated into the design.
The proposed project includes temporary construction easements on properties north and south of the bridge, with an anticipated drainage right of way on adjacent state-owned property.
Construction is projected to begin in spring 2027 with an estimated cost of $2.1 million. Funding comprises 80% Federal funds and 20% State funds.
