The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) has scheduled an in-person public information meeting regarding the replacement of Bridge No. 04525 on Simsbury Road over West Branch Salmon Brook in Granby. The meeting will take place on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at Granby Town Hall, located at 15 North Granby Road in Granby. The venue is accessible to individuals with disabilities.
This meeting aims to give the public and local community a platform to express comments or ask questions about the proposed project. More details can be found at https://portal.ct.gov/DOTGranby55-145.
“The project involves a full replacement of the bridge and roadway re-alignment to address geometric deficiencies that will help improve traffic flow and enhance safety for all users,” stated Marc Byrnes, Project Manager for CTDOT. “We encourage the public to attend this meeting to share their feedback with the CTDOT project team to incorporate into the design.”
The proposed improvements involve right-of-way impacts, including partial property acquisitions, slope easements, temporary construction easements, and rights.
Construction is expected to commence in spring 2027. The project is estimated to cost approximately $7.3 million, funded by 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
For those with hearing or speech disabilities, Telecommunications Relay Services (TRS) can be accessed by dialing 711. Additionally, individuals may request that project information be mailed within one week following the meeting by contacting Jeffrey.Organek@ct.gov.
Language assistance services are available through CTDOT’s Language Assistance Call Line at (860) 594-2109 and should be requested at least five business days before the meeting. These services are free of charge and efforts will be made to accommodate timely requests.
Comments and questions from the public can be submitted during a two-week period after the meeting ends. Submissions should be directed by Thursday, April 24, 2025, to Jeffrey.Organek@ct.gov or (860) 594-3582 with reference to Project No. 0055-0145 in emails or voicemails.
