The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) has opened a public comment period for proposed changes to the CTtransit bus services in New Haven and Hartford. The proposed modifications include expanding service hours and frequency, altering routes, introducing a new route, and discontinuing certain services to enhance efficiency.
Detailed information on these changes is available at ct.gov/dot/proposedtransitchanges. CTDOT will host open houses where staff will provide information and gather feedback on the proposals. These sessions are scheduled for March 18, 2025, at Kennedy Mitchell Hall of Records in New Haven and March 19, 2025, at Park Street Library in Hartford.
“Public input is critically important to helping us ensure our transit system remains customer-focused and serves the people of Connecticut,” said Benjamin Limmer, Bureau Chief of Public Transportation at CTDOT. He emphasized that the open houses offer an opportunity for public engagement regarding both immediate and future service changes.
Feedback collected during this period will be considered before finalizing the service adjustments. Comments can be submitted via email to dot.proposedtransitchanges@ct.gov or by calling (860) 597-8226. Written comments are also accepted by mail addressed to the Bureau of Public Transportation in Newington.
Language assistance is available through CTDOT's Language Assistance Call Line for those who require it. Requests should be made five business days before meetings, with no cost incurred by participants.
The deadline for submitting comments is April 3, 2025.
