The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is organizing a virtual public information meeting on March 25, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will focus on traffic control signal replacements in Southwest Connecticut's District 3. It aims to provide an opportunity for the public and local community to share comments or ask questions about the proposed project.

The meeting will be conducted via Zoom, with a registration requirement. A question and answer session will follow the presentation, which will also be recorded. Information on accessing the meeting and providing feedback can be found at https://portal.ct.gov/DOT173-542.

Kaethe Podgorski, Project Manager at CTDOT, stated, “The replacement of traffic control signals will modernize aging infrastructure to current standards, maintaining reliable operation at various intersections in southwest Connecticut.” She encouraged public participation to gather feedback for incorporation into the design.

Minimal right-of-way impacts are anticipated around new signal equipment and sidewalks at some intersections involved in the project. Construction is slated to begin in winter 2026 with an estimated cost of $16 million funded entirely by state resources.

For those with limited internet access, participation is possible by calling (877) 853-5257 with Meeting ID 854 7788 3366. Telecommunications Relay Services are available for individuals with hearing or speech disabilities by dialing 711. Additionally, project information can be mailed upon request by contacting Kaethe Podgorski at DOTSignalReplacements@ct.gov or (860) 594-2189 within one week.

Language assistance requests should be directed to the CTDOT Language Assistance Call Line at (860) 594-2109 five business days before the meeting. These services are free and timely requests will be accommodated.

The event will also stream live on the CTDOT YouTube channel without registration requirements. Non-English language closed captioning will be available on both Zoom and YouTube platforms. The recording of this session will be posted immediately after on portal.ct.gov/ctdotVPIMarchive as part of CTDOT's virtual public meetings list.

Comments and questions from the public can be submitted during a two-week period following the meeting until April 8th, 2025. Submissions should reference State Project No. 0173-0542 when sent via email or voicemail to DOTSignalReplacements@ct.gov or (860) 594-2189.
