Women more prevalent than men in Connecticut in 2021

Of the 3,605,330 people living in Connecticut in 2021, 50.9% (1,836,470) were women and 49.1% (1,768,860) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by Constitution State News.

Data showed the average age for women in Connecticut in 2021 was 42 years, higher than the national average of 40 for women. Meanwhile, Connecticut's male population stands at an average age of 40 years, placing them higher than the US average of 38.

According to census data, women aged 18 and over outnumbered men in the same age group by 12,574, totaling 1,126,617 individuals. Meanwhile, in the 65 and over group, there were 273,903 men and 346,276 women.
