The No. 16 Yale women’s lacrosse team will play No. 12 Boston College in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on May 3. The game is scheduled for Friday at 4:00 p.m. at Stony Brook, following the announcement of the tournament bracket on Sunday night.

This marks Yale’s third consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament, which is a first in school history. The Bulldogs finished their season with a record of 13-4 overall and went 6-1 in Ivy League play, earning them the outright Ivy League title.

Both Yale and Boston College received at-large bids to this year’s tournament and are unseeded. In addition to their matchup, host Stony Brook—ranked No. 11 nationally and seeded fifth—will play Stonehill earlier that day. Winners from both games will meet on Sunday to determine who advances to the quarterfinals.

The NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Tournament features a field of 29 teams this year, with three top seeds receiving byes while other teams compete in campus-hosted games during the opening rounds. All first- and second-round matches will be streamed live on ESPN+.

Yale has participated five times previously in the NCAA Tournament, holding an all-time record of five wins and five losses across those appearances.
