The No. 16 Yale women’s lacrosse team will face Brown in the Ivy League Tournament semifinals at Reese Stadium on Friday, April 30. The game is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
This matchup is significant as Yale recently secured sole possession of the Ivy League title, marking its fourth league championship in school history. The Bulldogs finished their regular season with a 12-3 overall record and a 6-1 mark in conference play. Despite a narrow loss to Cornell in their last game, Yale remains the top seed entering the tournament.
Yale’s coaching staff was named Ivy League Coaching Staff of the Year, including Erica Bamford as head coach, Colleen Smith as associate head coach, Molly Palella as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, and Brooklyn Neumen as assistant coach. Senior defender Emmy Pascal was recognized as Defender of the Year while first-year attacker Kate Gould earned Rookie of the Year honors. Other players received All-Ivy recognitions for their performances this season.
The Bulldogs have demonstrated strong defensive capabilities throughout the year, ranking third nationally by allowing just over seven goals per game. At home since opening Tsai Lacrosse Field House in 2021, Yale has achieved a record of 41 wins and five losses at Reese Stadium.
Brown enters Friday’s contest with an overall record of eight wins and six losses (4-3 Ivy League), having won four out of its last five games. The Bears lead the conference and are fifth nationally for fewest fouls per game.
Looking ahead, should Yale advance past Brown on Friday, they would compete for another tournament championship on Sunday at noon. The winner secures an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
