The Yale softball team swept a doubleheader against Dartmouth on April 25, winning both games by wide margins and invoking the run rule in each contest.

These victories improve Yale’s record to 17-27 overall and 7-13 in Ivy League play, while Dartmouth falls to 7-22 (4-12 Ivy). Both teams are now mathematically eliminated from contention for the Ivy League Tournament.

In the first game, Yale defeated Dartmouth 10-1 in five innings. The Bulldogs took control early with a six-run second inning highlighted by a two-RBI double from Ella Cross. Jane Littleton added an RBI single in the fourth, and Ellie Joseph pitched a complete game to secure the win. Three Yale players recorded multiple RBIs, including Cross with three, and Joseph marked her ninth outing of five or more innings this season.

The second game saw even more dominance from Yale as they won 12-0 in another five-inning contest. Libby Peoples started the scoring with an RBI single before Elena Ohe drove in two more runs. A six-run second inning broke open the game, led by Grace Westmoreland’s two-RBI double. Emma Taylor finished off the shutout and reached her career milestone of 300 strikeouts at Yale. This series marks the first time since March 2025 that Yale has scored double-digit runs in consecutive Ivy League games and their first such performance against Dartmouth since April 2017.

Looking ahead, Yale will conclude its season with one final matchup against Dartmouth on Sunday, April 26 at 12:30 p.m.
