Fairfield University Women’s Golf earned two spots on the All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) teams, according to an April 20 announcement from the conference office. Katelynn Waclawski was named to the All-MAAC First Team, while Sofia Nogalo secured a place on the Second Team.
The recognition highlights the achievements of both student-athletes during a competitive season. Waclawski, a senior, added First Team honors to her previous Second Team distinction from last spring. She achieved top five finishes at several tournaments including the Battle at the Beach, Women’s Intercollegiate and Prospect Bay events, as well as in the Fairfield Tri-Match. Notably, she led all competitors at the St. John’s Women’s Invitational and helped guide Fairfield to second place among twelve teams.
Nogalo earned her first career All-MAAC honor with this year’s Second Team selection. Her season included winning individual medalist honors at the Le Moyne Lady Dolphin Invitational in the fall, where she finished first out of 59 golfers. In recent outings, Nogalo placed ninth both at St. John’s Women’s Invitational and in the Fairfield Tri-Match.
Additionally, five members of Fairfield’s team were named to the MAAC All-Academic Team: Nogalo, Waclawski, Sophia DeSantis, Juliette Prud’Homme and Grace Windfelder. Eligibility for this academic recognition requires completion of two semesters at their institution and maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
Fairfield Women’s Golf is set to compete in this week’s MAAC Championship at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course from April 21-23.
