UConn quarterback Joe Fagnano has signed a three-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent ahead of the team’s rookie mini-camp, according to an April 28 announcement.

Fagnano was recognized during the 2025 season as a Heisman Award candidate and Davey O’Brien Award semifinalist. He led the Huskies to a 9-3 record and helped secure a bowl berth for the second consecutive year. His achievements also include winning the Gold Helmet from the New England Football Writers Association and being named Offensive Player of the Year by the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston.

Throughout his final season at UConn, Fagnano started all 12 games—the first Huskies quarterback to do so since 2018. He earned two New England Gold Helmet Awards and was selected three times as Manning Award Star of the Week. Over those games, he completed 285 passes out of 413 attempts for a total of 3,448 yards, throwing for 28 touchdowns against just one interception. His single interception set a school record for fewest in a season by any UConn quarterback, while his passing efficiency rating of 161.03 also established a new program benchmark.

Fagnano had six games where he threw for more than 300 yards and ended his season with what was described as his best performance: completing 33 passes for 446 yards in a win at Florida Atlantic. In seven games during that year, he recorded three or more touchdown passes.

Over his UConn career, Fagnano played in 24 games and completed nearly two-thirds of his pass attempts (423-of-654) for over five thousand yards (5,252), recording forty-eight touchdowns against six interceptions. This places him fourth all-time in touchdowns thrown at UConn and fifth both in passing yards and completions within school history. Including time spent at Maine prior to joining UConn, Fagnano’s collegiate career totals span fifty-one games with over ten thousand passing yards (10,926), ninety-four touchdowns, and eighteen interceptions.

The signing marks another step forward for Fagnano following notable individual accolades throughout his college football career.
