The University of Connecticut baseball team lost 6-1 to East Tennessee State University on May 2, dropping the series at Elliot Ballpark.
The loss puts UConn’s season record at 26 wins and 22 losses, while ETSU improves to a record of 29 wins and 15 losses. The Huskies managed only six hits during the game, with their only run coming in the eighth inning on a passed ball.
Pitcher Cayden Suchy delivered a strong performance for UConn, pitching seven innings and allowing just two earned runs. Jackson Marshall contributed by extending his team-best streak of reaching base to 37 consecutive games.
The result means UConn will try to avoid being swept in the series when they return to play on Sunday morning at Elliot Ballpark.
Looking ahead, the Huskies hope to recover from this setback as they continue their season.
