Colin Sloan delivered a walk-off single in the 12th inning to give the Yale baseball team a 6-5 victory over Quinnipiac on April 15 at George H.W. Bush ’48 Field.

The win brought Yale’s overall record to 20-10, while Quinnipiac fell to 14-20. The game extended into extra innings after both teams traded runs throughout regulation, culminating in Sloan’s decisive hit that scored Chris DiPrima with two outs.

Senior Davis Hanson contributed significantly for the Bulldogs, going 2-for-5 and driving in three runs. First-year pitcher Nick West earned the win after throwing six innings of relief and allowing just one earned run. Hanson tied the game in the eighth inning with a bases-loaded single that drove in two runs, setting up the late-inning drama.

Yale trailed early as Quinnipiac built a four-run lead by the fourth inning, including a solo home run from Ian Nilsen. The Bulldogs responded with RBI singles from Chace Chaplin and Hanson in the fourth and continued their comeback with another run driven in by Jack Dauer during the fifth. Dossa extended his on-base streak to 23 games and stole three bases, increasing his season total to sixteen.

The pitching staff saw Brett Faccio start for Yale before being relieved by Levi Strahm, Alex Hwang, Ethan Lewis, and ultimately West, who secured his second win of the season. Sloan notched his second walk-off hit this year after previously beating Penn under similar circumstances.

Yale will continue its schedule with a three-game series at Cornell starting Friday, April 17.
