The Quinnipiac women’s track and field team set multiple new records during the 130th Penn Relays at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, according to an April 25 announcement. The event featured three days of competition against teams from across the country.

The results are significant for Quinnipiac as several athletes broke Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and school records. Sydney Lavelle competed in the 400-meter hurdles on Thursday, finishing with a time of 1:01.18. In the same evening, Rachel St. Germain finished the 5000-meter race in 16:40.49, followed by teammates Zoe Merryman and Madeleine O’Neill.

On Friday, Nyasia Dailey ran the 100 meters in 11.54 seconds to qualify for Saturday’s final and helped lead the College Women’s 4×100 relay team—alongside Kiera Baxter, Michelle Tota, and Izzie Anzaldo—to win their heat with a new MAAC and program record of 45.07 seconds.

Isabella Pistoia, Madelyn Durkee, Claire O’Sullivan, and Tamia Chapman set a new school record in the 4×400 relay with a time of 3:53.20 to qualify for Saturday’s finals as well. The Sprint Medley Relay team also bested its previous school record by three seconds.

In field events, Talia Graham matched her outdoor program pole vault record at 3.75 meters while Lauren Fadairo reached a mark of 11.80 meters in her second jump.

All Quinnipiac entries that qualified for Saturday finals placed second: The women’s College division relay teams finished just behind La Salle (4×100) and Bryant (4×400), while Dailey took second place in the College Women’s Final for the 100 meters.
