The Quinnipiac women’s tennis team will compete against No. 4 national seed Texas A&M in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on May 2 at the Mitchell Tennis Center, according to an April 27 announcement. This is the second consecutive year that Quinnipiac travels to College Station for its tournament opener and marks the third meeting between these teams in four seasons during the first round.

This matchup follows Quinnipiac’s recent achievement as back-to-back Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference champions, earning their ninth overall title and securing an automatic bid for their fourth NCAA appearance in five years. In previous tournament encounters with Texas A&M, held in both 2023 and 2025, Quinnipiac was defeated by a score of 4-0 each time.

Texas A&M enters this year’s tournament after finishing as runner-up in last year’s National Championship, having previously won the title in 2024. The Aggies have compiled a season record of 22 wins and five losses, sharing their fifth straight Southeastern Conference title with a conference record of 13-2 before falling to Auburn in the SEC Semifinals. Lucciana Perez, playing at No.1 singles for Texas A&M, was named SEC Player of the Year and holds a perfect dual match record of 23-0 this season. This year marks Texas A&M’s thirtieth appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

General admission tickets for both rounds are available for advance purchase online or by phone through official ticket outlets. Tickets can also be bought on match days at Mitchell Tennis Center starting one hour before play begins.
