Quinnipiac women’s tennis will host Niagara on April 18 as the team marks Senior Day and concludes its regular season, according to an announcement from the program. The match is scheduled for a 10:30 a.m. start at the QU Tennis Courts in Hamden, Connecticut.
This event is significant as it follows Quinnipiac’s recent achievements, including securing their fifth regular season title since the 2020-21 campaign and extending their current win streak to ten matches. The Bobcats have also won fifteen consecutive Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) matches dating back to last season.
Several players have contributed notable performances leading up to this final regular-season contest. Willow Renton and Caitlin Flower recorded their thirteenth doubles victory of the year, while Caroline Schulson and Isabella Sicignano earned their fifth doubles win. In singles play, both Renton and Isabella Baker achieved their thirteenth wins of the season; Baker has won nine straight singles matches, with Renton on an eight-match streak. Anagha Shankar reached her tenth singles victory, Schulson her eleventh, and Vera Sekerina picked up her ninth win with four consecutive straight-set victories.
Renton recently excelled at the MAAC Masters tournament by capturing both the women’s singles title and partnering with Flower for the doubles championship. They advanced together to compete in the ITA Conference Masters Championships in San Diego, California. Looking ahead to next year, sophomore Willow Renton and junior Caroline Schulson are set to serve as team captains for Quinnipiac during the 2026 season.
During the previous (2024-25) season, Quinnipiac finished with a record of twelve wins and nine losses overall—including an undefeated MAAC record—and secured its eighth conference title by defeating defending champions Fairfield in a close match. Willow Renton was recognized as MAAC Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and Most Outstanding Player of that tournament.
Head Coach Paula Miller continues her successful tenure at Quinnipiac by guiding them through multiple championships since joining MAAC in 2013-14—earning eight conference titles under her leadership along with seven NCAA Tournament appearances.
