The Quinnipiac women’s golf team won its second straight Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) title on April 23, finishing with a tournament total of 885 (+21). The Bobcats edged out Fairfield University by three strokes at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.

This victory marks the seventh overall MAAC championship for the program. The win secures Quinnipiac a spot in the upcoming NCAA Tournament, with their regional destination to be announced during the NCAA Selection Show on Wednesday, April 29 at 4 p.m. on the Golf Channel.

Sophia Fujita led Quinnipiac by claiming her second consecutive McLeod Trophy as individual champion. She finished with a three-round score of 212 (-4), including a final round of 70 (-2) and setting a new MAAC record for lowest tournament score. Fujita is also noted as the first Bobcat to win back-to-back McLeod Trophies and is the first woman to do so since Katelyn Mannix from Siena in 2008 and 2009.

Other notable performances included Samantha Galantini tying for fifth place overall with a total score of 222 (+6), Natalie Spiska finishing at +10, Marisa Flores tying for fifteenth place at +12, and Vaidehi Shah tying for twentieth place at +14. Each athlete contributed strong rounds throughout the three-day event.

With this win, Quinnipiac has now earned its ticket to compete in its second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. More information about team results and individual scores can be found through official sources or by visiting gobobcats.com/golf.
