The Quinnipiac women’s golf team finished its run at the Ann Arbor Regional with a record-setting performance, shooting a 305 (+21) in the final round on May 13. The Bobcats ended the tournament with a total score of 924 (+72), marking their best result ever at an NCAA Regional.
This achievement is significant for the program, as it demonstrates continued improvement and success on a national stage. Several players set personal records during the event, reflecting growth and experience gained from previous regional appearances.
Sophia Fujita led Quinnipiac as the top individual finisher for the team, completing her second NCAA Regional appearance with a three-day total of 222 (+9). “Fujita shot a 74 (+3) on the final day to close out her second NCAA Regional appearance.” Natalie Spiska made her debut at an NCAA event and posted a total score of 231 (+18), securing second place among her teammates after carding a 79 in Wednesday’s final round.
Samantha Galantini improved upon last season’s performance by three strokes, finishing with a combined score of 234 (+21). “Galantini saved her best round of the regional for last, shooting a 74 (+3) on Wednesday.” Vaidehi Shah also bettered her previous regional mark by three strokes, ending with a total of 238 (+25). Marisa Flores completed her second regional appearance with an overall score of 245 (+32).
The Bobcats’ individual highlights included Fujita’s low round of even-par (72) in Tuesday’s play and Spiska opening strong with a first-round score of two-over-par (73). Galantini matched her teammate’s closing efforts while Shah and Flores both posted their best rounds during different stages across the tournament.
As several team members set new personal records this week in Ann Arbor, Quinnipiac continues to build momentum within collegiate women’s golf. The program looks ahead to future competitions while celebrating its historic showing at this year’s NCAA Regional.
