Quinnipiac University announced on April 17 that its outdoor tennis facility will be named the Peter Liberti Tennis Complex, with an official dedication ceremony scheduled for Saturday, April 18.
The ceremony will take place between the women’s and men’s tennis matches against Niagara, marking a significant event for both the university’s athletic department and community. The day will also include celebrations of Senior Day and Alumni Day during the matches.
Peter Liberti has been closely connected to Quinnipiac since arriving in Hamden in July 2018. He is married to Judy D. Olian, who served as Quinnipiac’s ninth president from 2018 to 2025. In addition to supporting university-wide events, Liberti has contributed directly by coaching the club tennis team and sharing his passion for the sport.
“Because of Peter Liberti and Judy Olian’s philanthropy, these courts will serve as a daily reminder that excellence is built by those willing to invest in the future of others,” said Paula Miller, Director of Tennis and Women’s Tennis Head Coach. “A name on a court is more than recognition—it is a permanent symbol of belief, generosity, and lasting impact. Quinnipiac Tennis thanks Peter and Judy for their generosity.”
Nick Wormley, Vice President for Development and Alumni Affairs, said: “Dedicating this facility as the Peter Liberti Tennis Complex honors a coach, player, and lifelong fan whose passion continues to shape the Quinnipiac tennis programs and whose long-term influence will continue to help student-athletes for generations.” Director of Athletics Greg Amodio added: “The naming of this facility is a testament to the profound impact Peter Liberti has had on our campus community. Peter’s dedication to our student-athletes and his genuine love for the game of tennis have made him an integral part of the Bobcat family. We are honored to have his name permanently associated with our athletic program, representing a legacy of support that elevates the experience for our players and fans alike.”
