The Quinnipiac men’s tennis team will face Fairfield at home on April 15, with the match scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. at the QU Tennis Courts in Hamden, Connecticut. The contest is a crucial Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) matchup as both teams compete for a spot in the upcoming MAAC tournament.

This meeting comes after Quinnipiac improved its conference record to 3-3 following recent victories over Merrimack and Mount St. Mary’s. In those matches, the doubles team of Csanad Nyaradi and Vishal Prakash secured their seventh win of the season and their fifth in six matches, while Nyaradi also picked up his fourth singles victory. Carlos Braun Simo has continued his strong performance this season, now holding a 9-4 singles record with five wins in his last six outings.

In regional play, doubles teams featuring Carlos Braun Simo and Elias Hoxha as well as Finn Burridge and Alessandro Sciacca advanced to the round of 64 at the ITA Regional Championships. Braun Simo also won his main draw singles consolation match against Ethan Chung from Yale.

Quinnipiac enters this contest as back-to-back MAAC champions, having claimed their second consecutive title last season by defeating Rider 4-1 in the championship match. Elias Hoxha was named Most Outstanding Performer for clinching the win over Rider. The Bobcats had previously defeated Niagara by a score of 4-1 in the semifinals before advancing to their second straight NCAA Tournament appearance, where they fell to No. 23 Clemson.

The Bobcats return several All-MAAC selections this year: Elias Hoxha, Carlos Braun Simo, and Finn Burridge. Notably, Hoxha maintained an undefeated record against MAAC opponents last season with ten wins and no losses.
