The Quinnipiac men’s tennis team will compete against Rider in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) semifinals on April 25 at the Princeton Racquet and Fieldhouse in Princeton, New Jersey. The Bobcats, who finished their regular season with an overall record of 8-11 and a conference record of 5-3, enter the tournament as the No. 3 seed.

The match holds significance as Quinnipiac aims for its third consecutive MAAC title. The team previously secured championships during the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons, defeating Rider and Fairfield respectively to earn trips to the NCAA Tournament.

Several players received recognition for their performances this season. Carlos Braun Simo was named to the All-MAAC Singles First Team after achieving a 7-1 record at No. 1 singles and earning three MAAC Player of the Week awards. Braun Simo also collected Second Team Doubles honors with partner Alessandro Sciacca, posting a combined record of 5-3 at No. 1 doubles.

Elias Hoxha earned his second All-MAAC singles honor after winning five conference matches and securing a decisive victory over Fairfield that kept Quinnipiac’s postseason hopes alive. Csanad Nyaradi and Vishal Prakash received their first doubles honors at No. 3 doubles following six straight wins in conference play. In addition, seven Bobcats were named to the MAAC All-Academic Team.

In recent competition, Quinnipiac achieved back-to-back home victories against Fairfield and Niagara. Doubles teams led by Braun Simo/Sciacca and Nyaradi/Prakash contributed significantly with multiple wins late in the season.

Looking ahead, success in Friday’s semifinal could position Quinnipiac for another appearance in both the conference final and potentially another NCAA Tournament berth.
