Quinnipiac University’s men’s lacrosse team will conclude its regular season at home against Manhattan on April 22. The match is scheduled for a 3:00 PM start at QU Lacrosse Stadium in Hamden, Connecticut.
The Bobcats have already secured a postseason berth and are currently tied for third place in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference standings. The outcome of this final game will determine their seeding in the upcoming MAAC Tournament.
Throughout the season, Quinnipiac has received four MAAC weekly awards. Junior Nate Watson was named Offensive Player of the Week after a win over UMass Lowell, while senior goalie Evan Miner earned Defensive Player of the Week honors following a victory against Sacred Heart. Max Pauwels and Duncan Zielke also collected league honors after a recent win at Iona. Seven different players have scored ten or more points this year, with Watson leading the team with 36 goals and ten assists. Cole Marsala follows closely behind with 44 points, including eight in the team’s latest victory.
The Bobcats lead their conference and rank third nationally in man-up offense efficiency, scoring on nearly 58 percent of such opportunities. They also top the league in caused turnovers per game and rank tenth nationally in that category.
Manhattan enters the contest with a record of three wins and ten losses overall (1-6 MAAC). Thomas White leads Manhattan’s offense with 27 goals this season, while Aiden Kane leads in assists.
Head Coach Mason Poli is now serving his seventh year as head coach for Quinnipiac’s program and twelfth overall on staff. Under his leadership since being named head coach in May 2019, Quinnipiac has made notable progress including an appearance in the MAAC Tournament championship during his interim year.
Looking ahead to postseason play, Quinnipiac aims to continue its strong performance as it seeks advancement through conference tournament competition.
