The Quinnipiac Bobcats will close out their regular season with a three-game series against the Merrimack Warriors, beginning May 14 in Lawrence, Massachusetts. The games are scheduled for Thursday at 7:00 PM, Friday at 3:00 PM, and Saturday at noon at Greater Lawrence Tech.

This final series is important as both teams aim to secure spots in the upcoming Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Baseball Championships. The Bobcats enter the matchup with a record of 23-25 overall and 14-13 in conference play, while the Warriors hold a record of 23-27 overall and are fourth in the MAAC standings with a conference mark of 17-10.

In their most recent outing, Quinnipiac lost two out of three games to Rider Broncs. After dropping the opener by a score of 9-3 and tying through seven innings before Rider surged ahead, the Bobcats responded with a decisive 9-4 win in game two thanks to strong performances from Chase Camac and Christian Smith. However, they fell short in the finale as Rider secured an early lead for a narrow victory.

Historically, Quinnipiac leads its all-time series against Merrimack five games to one since March 2024. Last season, Quinnipiac swept Merrimack when playing at home. In six meetings since then, Quinnipiac has outscored Merrimack by a combined total of 48 to 24.

The Warriors come into this series having won six out of nine MAAC matchups this year but recently lost to Maine Black Bears. They have several key contributors on offense including Matt DeShiro who leads with a .319 batting average over forty-nine starts; six players have driven in more than thirty runs each this season.

For Quinnipiac’s roster leaders among qualifying players: Alex Irizarry leads in batting average (.306), runs (36), and RBIs (35); Caden Williamson has recorded fifty-five hits; Christian Smith leads both doubles (15) and home runs (7); Andrew Rubayo tops pitching stats with an ERA of 3.34 across seventy innings pitched.

Looking ahead, both teams hope strong performances will earn them places in the MAAC Baseball Championships set for May 20–23 at Heritage Financial Park.
