The Quinnipiac Bobcats will host the Rider Broncs in their final home series of the regular season, beginning May 7 at Quinnipiac Baseball Field in Hamden. The three-game set starts Thursday at 3 p.m., followed by a doubleheader on Friday, May 8, with games scheduled for noon and 4 p.m.

This matchup is significant as both teams are competing for position in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference standings ahead of postseason play. The Rider Broncs currently lead the conference with a record of 25-16 overall and 17-7 in league play, while Quinnipiac holds a record of 22-23 overall and 13-11 in conference action.

Andrew Rubayo was named MAAC Co-Pitcher of the Week after his performance against Fairfield Stags, where he pitched seven innings without allowing a run. The Bobcats recently secured their third consecutive MAAC series win by defeating Fairfield two games to one. In that series, Christian Smith and Alex Irizarry combined for five RBIs during a shutout victory, while James Marino delivered a walk-off hit to clinch the rubber match.

Historically, this will be the thirty-second meeting between Quinnipiac and Rider since March 2002. Rider leads the all-time series with twenty wins to eleven. Last season saw Quinnipiac take two out of three from Rider during regular-season play but fall twice to them during the MAAC Championships.

Rider enters this weekend leading the conference in batting average (.299) and runs scored (322), while also boasting five hitters above .300 on the year. Their pitching staff holds an earned run average of 4.23 through conference games—the second lowest among league teams—and has allowed only 124 runs during those contests.

Looking ahead, Quinnipiac will finish its regular season with an away series against Merrimack Warriors starting May 14.
