David X. Sullivan, U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that Sasha May, previously known as Owen May, 24, from Pelham, New York, has pleaded guilty to a child exploitation charge. This decision was made before U.S. District Judge Kari A. Dooley in Bridgeport.

Court documents reveal that between December 2023 and May 2024, May engaged in online conversations with an undercover law enforcement officer using Kik and Whisper messaging platforms. During these interactions, she expressed her sexual interest in children and shared child pornography.

May admitted guilt to possessing and accessing child pornography with intent to view it, a crime that could result in up to 20 years of imprisonment. Sentencing is set for October 16 by Judge Dooley.

Arrested on August 26, 2024, based on a criminal complaint, May is currently released on a $100,000 bond under home confinement with electronic monitoring until sentencing.

The investigation involved the FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force along with the Greenwich Police Department and Pelham (N.Y.) Police Department. The Task Force comprises federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies. Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher Lembo is prosecuting the case.

This prosecution is part of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood Initiative aimed at protecting children from sexual abuse and exploitation. More information about Project Safe Childhood can be found at www.justice.gov/psc.
