A New York man has been sentenced to five years of probation for making a series of threatening and harassing communications to a Connecticut resident. Elijah Whyte, 30, of White Plains, received his sentence from U.S. District Judge Kari A. Dooley in Bridgeport.
According to court documents and statements presented in court, Whyte sent 1,330 text messages, made 72 phone calls, and left three voicemail messages between August and October 2023. Many of these communications included threats concerning the victim’s safety, their children, and references to the victim’s home and hometown.
Whyte had been detained since November 1, 2023. He pleaded guilty on May 16, 2025, to making repeated harassing telephone communications.
“This matter was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel George,” said David X. Sullivan, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
