Peter Moynihan and Patrick Pisano of the Yale men’s lacrosse team were named Honorable Mention All-Americans by Inside Lacrosse, according to a May 9 announcement. The recognition comes after both players had previously received Honorable Mention All-American status from USA Lacrosse earlier in the week.
The awards highlight the achievements of two key members of the team during a competitive season. Such honors are significant as they recognize individual excellence on a national level within collegiate lacrosse.
Moynihan, a junior, earned this honor for the first time in his career. He is third on the team in goals with 18 and points with 24, and fourth in assists with six. He also leads Yale with four game-winning goals this season. Among his notable performances was scoring four goals against No. 9 Cornell to lead the Bulldogs, as well as netting a late goal at Brown that secured Yale’s spot in the Ivy League Tournament.
Pisano also received this distinction for the first time after having been recognized as an Inside Lacrosse Honorable Mention Midseason All-American earlier in the season. The senior from Cold Spring Harbor, New York has collected All-Ivy honors for three consecutive seasons and is an important part of Yale’s defense. Pisano leads the Bulldogs with 20 caused turnovers and ranks third in the league with an average of 1.43 per game. He tied his career high with four caused turnovers during Yale’s upset win over No. 9 Cornell and was named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week in early April.
These recognitions reflect both players’ contributions to their team’s success throughout the season.
