Sacred Heart University announced on May 19 that two baseball players have received All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) honors, while twelve team members were named to the MAAC All-Academic Team for the 2026 season.
The recognition highlights both athletic and academic achievements within the Sacred Heart Pioneers baseball program. These awards are given to student-athletes who excel in their sport as well as in their studies.
Peter Link was selected to the All-MAAC Second Team after starting all 49 games this season. He batted .288 with 53 hits, scored 38 runs, hit 11 doubles and 12 home runs, and had 41 runs batted in. Link also posted a .543 slugging percentage, drew 26 walks, stole 12 bases, maintained a .399 on-base percentage, and recorded a .979 fielding percentage in the outfield.
Will Rudolph earned a place on the MAAC All-Rookie Team after appearing in 48 games with 46 starts during his freshman year. Rudolph hit .241 with 42 hits, scored 29 runs, had seven doubles and two home runs, drove in 21 runs, drew twenty walks, stole two bases, achieved a .335 on-base percentage and had a .968 fielding percentage in the outfield.
In addition to these individual accomplishments on the field, Sacred Heart placed twelve student-athletes on the MAAC All-Academic Team. The honorees are Ronan Donohue, JW Fitzgerald, Mitch Hawkins, Jack Kidwell, Drew Martin, Steak Newman, CJ Nolan, Ryan Parker, Jon Peterson, Daniel Rice III, PJ Rogan and Christian Trantino. This award recognizes student-athletes who maintain a grade point average between 3.20 and 4.0.
These recognitions reflect both competitive performance during games and dedication to academic success among Sacred Heart’s baseball players.
