The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) has announced upcoming changes to the Hartford Line train service due to Amtrak’s track construction project. The adjustments will be in effect from Friday, July 11 through Monday, July 14, 2025. During this period, busing will replace most train services.
Construction work is set to commence on Friday night and continue until Monday morning. Details regarding the temporary schedule are expected to be released by the end of June 2025.
These modifications are necessary for Amtrak’s Wood Interlocking project, which involves replacing track components to enhance reliability and maintain the railroad’s condition. Additionally, Amtrak plans to upgrade the railroad bridge over Capitol Avenue in Hartford.
