Franklin Elementary School recently issued the following announcement.

Stratford Public Schools, in conjunction with the Stratford Board of Education, the Stratford Education Association, and the Connecticut State Department of Education, is participating in the National Teacher of the Year Program. We will nominate one of our tenured, full time teachers for this distinction. This person will represent our best. Any tenured in Stratford, full-time classroom teacher, including those in special areas, is eligible for nomination. Teachers nominated in prior years but not selected as Teacher of the Year are eligible for re-nomination.

Regulations: In agreement with the Board and the Stratford Education Association, these regulations govern the 2021 Teacher of the Year nominations: 1. Only adults are able to nominate teachers. 2. You can nominate only one tenured in Stratford, full-time teacher each year. 3. A nomination requires three signatures. One must be that of a certified staff member and one must be that of the current building administrator. 7KHWKLUGFDQEHDQ DGXOWZKRPHHWVWKHFULWHULD 4. Nominators must have had contact with the tenured, full-time teacher they nominate within the past three years. 5. The Teacher of the Year selection committee will consist of the present Teacher of the Year, two Stratford Education Association members, one Stratford Administrator Association member, one Board of Education member, one parent representative, one central office administrative representative, and the program coordinators. 6. The nominated teacher must be an exceptionally skilled and dedicated professional. This teacher plans to continue in an active teaching status

If you wish to nominate a teacher, complete the nomination form on the attached sheet. Every effort will be made to keep the names of the nominators confidential. Nomination forms must be received at Board of Education Administrative Offices by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2020. Late arrivals will not be considered. Send nominations to: Dr. Linda A.
