Diaz pleaded guilty on February 11, 2025, to possession with intent to distribute cocaine, crack cocaine, and fentanyl. He is currently released on a $50,000 bond and must report to prison on September 10.
Previously in April 2013, Diaz was sentenced to 78 months in prison for distributing heroin in New Haven federal court.
The investigation involved the Drug Enforcement Administration New Haven Task Force with contributions from multiple law enforcement agencies including the DEA, U.S. Marshals Service, IRS Criminal Investigation Division, Connecticut State Police as well as police departments from various cities including New Haven and Waterbury. Assistant U.S. Attorney Brendan J. Keefe prosecuted the case.
