Representatives from the Federal Benefits Unit in Krakow will visit the U.S. Embassy in Budapest from May 12 to 14, according to an announcement on Apr. 16. The representatives will be available to assist with various Social Security matters during their stay.

The upcoming visit is important for individuals who need help with Social Security Numbers and Cards, benefits, or reporting changes to the Social Security Administration. Access to these services can be limited for those living abroad, making such outreach events significant opportunities for personal assistance.

Those interested in meeting with a representative are asked to send an inquiry by email to FBU.krakow@ssa.gov and include “OUTREACH BUDAPEST” in the subject line of their message. When requesting an appointment, individuals should briefly explain the reason for their visit and provide their first name, last name, and year of birth.

The Federal Benefits Unit offers support on issues related to obtaining or updating Social Security Numbers and Cards as well as applying for or managing Social Security benefits. They also help clients report any necessary changes directly to the administration.

These visits are part of ongoing efforts by federal agencies to provide direct assistance overseas where access may otherwise be limited.
