Fairfield women’s golf remains second after round two at MAAC Championship

Fairfield University Women’s Golf remained in second place after the second round of the 2026 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship on April 22, improving their team score by nine strokes at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course.

The Stags’ performance keeps them close to the lead as they approach the final round. Their improved aggregate score of 292 (+4) on Wednesday, compared to Tuesday’s 301 (+13), allowed them to extend their advantage over third-place UAlbany by fifteen strokes. Fairfield trails first-place Quinnipiac by eight shots with one round remaining.

Grace Windfelder led Fairfield with a round of 70 (-2), holding onto a tie for second place individually at a total score of 143 (-1). She shares this position with Quinnipiac’s Samantha Galantini, both just one stroke behind leader Sophia Fujita from Quinnipiac, who sits at 142 (-2).

Other notable performances for Fairfield include Ainhoa Jauregi and Addie Chang, both tied for sixth place with scores of 149 (+5). Chang improved her score by five strokes on Wednesday, finishing even-par at 72. Katelynn Waclawski recorded her second consecutive round of 76 (+4) for a total of 152 (+8), while Sofia Nogalo improved her performance with a four-stroke reduction, carding a 77 (+5) and totaling 158 (+14).

The final round is scheduled to begin Thursday morning at Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course. The Stags will start their tee times beginning at 10:15 a.m.
