Fairfield University Women’s Lacrosse will host Quinnipiac in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship Semifinals, with the match scheduled for noon on May 1 at Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium, according to an April 30 announcement. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.

The matchup marks the beginning of Fairfield’s postseason play as the top seed in the conference. The winner will advance to the MAAC Championship Game, which is set for Sunday at 11 a.m. and will air live on ESPNU. Fairfield previously defeated both Siena and Quinnipiac during regular season play but did not compete against Niagara this year as part of its eight-game conference schedule.

Fairfield is aiming for its tenth MAAC Tournament title and NCAA postseason appearance. The team has qualified for the NCAA Tournament each of the past seven seasons, including an at-large bid in 2024. This season, Fairfield secured its seventeenth MAAC Regular Season Championship after completing an undefeated conference slate.

The Stags have played most of their recent games within Connecticut since March 11, with only one road contest outside state lines—a visit to Rider on April 1. They have faced Quinnipiac in postseason play only once before, defeating them in last year’s semifinals en route to a championship win. Overall, Fairfield holds an all-time record of 18-0 against Quinnipiac.

Sophomore Tessa Caputo recently set new program records by distributing eight assists in a single game and reaching her forty-third assist of the season—both school records for assists. Brynn Donnelly also leads Fairfield’s draw control statistics with career and single-season records.

Head Coach Laura Field is leading her eleventh campaign with Fairfield and was named MAAC Coach of the Year three times (2023, 2024, and 2026). She has coached six MAAC Championships and seven NCAA appearances as head coach and was inducted into the Connecticut Lacrosse Hall of Fame earlier this year.
