A Danbury resident experienced a life-changing moment when he discovered he had won $2 million in the CT Lottery’s “$2,000,000 MEGA MULTIPLIER” scratch game. The man, a regular lottery player, bought the winning ticket at J & R White Street Citgo in Danbury during a visit to play KENO. Reflecting on his win, he expressed gratitude for the thrill and fun that playing the lottery brings.

The winner plans to use his newfound wealth to overcome personal challenges. His priorities include purchasing a home and traveling to South America.

J & R White Street Citgo, where the ticket was purchased, has also seen recent success with other significant wins this year, including $10,000 Mega Millions and Play4 tickets. Last November, they sold a $20,000 scratch game winner. For selling the $2 million ticket, the retailer will receive a $20,000 bonus.

There is still one top prize remaining in the “$2,000,000 MEGA MULTIPLIER” game.

The Connecticut Lottery Corporation (CLC) highlights that overall odds for their games vary: “$2,000,000 Mega Multiplier” offers odds of 1 in 3.25; Mega Millions stands at 1 in 23.1; Cash5 odds are 1 in 72.1; while Cash5 with Kicker is 1 in 12.1. Odds for Play4 and KENO differ based on wager style.

Players must be at least 18 years old to purchase lottery tickets or seek help for gambling problems by calling (888) 789-7777 or visiting ccpg.org.

In fiscal year 2024 alone, CLC reported over $1.1 billion in prizes awarded to players and more than $85 million earned by retailers through commissions. The corporation contributed $387 million to Connecticut’s General Fund supporting public services such as health care and education since its establishment in 1972.
