The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) has finalized proposed changes to bus services for the CTtransit New Haven and Hartford Divisions. These changes are set to be implemented in August.

The adjustments aim to create a more customer-focused transit system. This includes increasing frequency and days of service on certain routes, expanding weekend service, and streamlining and extending other routes. In the long term, these changes align with the Greater Hartford Mobility Program’s vision, aiming for a modernized and connected bus system in Hartford.

The finalized bus service changes can be accessed at ct.gov/dot/proposedtransitchanges.

CTDOT collected public comments on the proposed changes from March 3 to April 3, 2025. The feedback received played a significant role in shaping both immediate and future modifications.

“Connecting with transit customers and listening to their feedback is important to us. They are the users of the transit system and we value their thoughts and opinions,” stated Benjamin Limmer, Bureau Chief of Public Transportation at CTDOT. “We take that feedback seriously and work on developing solutions that work for customers. We’re excited about these changes that are going to improve the customer experience.”

Customers are advised to subscribe to email alerts on transit operators’ websites for current service announcements. A list of transit providers is available at ct.gov/dot.
