The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is set to hold a virtual public information meeting regarding the replacement of traffic control signals in Central Connecticut. The meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., will cover areas including Bristol, East Hartford, New Britain, and Vernon.
The session aims to offer the public and local community an opportunity to comment or inquire about the proposed project. It will be conducted via Zoom, requiring prior registration. A question and answer segment will follow the presentation, which will be recorded. Details on accessing the meeting and submitting comments can be found at http://portal.ct.gov/DOTGreaterHartford0171-0504.
Kaethe Podgorski, CTDOT Project Manager, stated: “The replacement of traffic control signals will modernize aging infrastructure to meet current safety standards, maintaining reliable operation at various intersections across Central Connecticut.” She urged public participation to gather feedback for incorporation into the design.
Minimal right-of-way impacts are anticipated around new signal equipment and sidewalks at some intersections involved in the project. Construction is projected to commence in spring 2027 with an estimated cost of $10 million, fully funded by state resources.
For those with limited internet access, listening options are available by calling (877) 853-5257 using Meeting ID 861 6733 2048.
