The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is set to hold a public information meeting on June 24, 2025, regarding improvements at the Route 7 and 15 interchange in Norwalk. The meeting will take place at City Hall, located at 125 East Ave., Norwalk, CT, starting at 6:30 p.m.

The event will begin with an open house where attendees can engage in individual discussions with the project team. A presentation will follow at 7:00 p.m., accompanied by a question-and-answer session. The open house will resume from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

“This project will link Route 7 and 15 to create a more integrated space for pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists on the Main Avenue corridor, while also reducing traffic congestion and improving safety for all roadway users,” stated Jeffrey Pfaffinger, Project Manager for CTDOT. He encouraged public participation to provide feedback that could be incorporated into the design.

The proposed improvements include right-of-way impacts such as partial takings, grading easements, and rights to construct driveways. Construction is expected to start in fall 2027, contingent upon funding availability, acquisition of rights of way, and permit approvals. The project’s estimated cost is approximately $162 million, funded by 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.

Language assistance is available upon request through the CTDOT Language Assistance call line at (860) 594-2109. Requests should be made five business days before the meeting. Language assistance services are free of charge.

Public comments and questions can be submitted during a two-week period following the meeting until July 9, 2025. Feedback should be directed to Jeffrey Pfaffinger via email at Jeffrey.Pfaffinger@ct.gov or phone at (860) 594-2767. Reference Project No. 102-358 when submitting inquiries.
