The Northeast Organic Farming Association of Connecticut announced on June 2 the launch of its Equipment Share Program, developed in partnership with The Hickories Farm in Ridgefield. The initiative is designed to provide both commercial farmers and home gardeners free access to specialized equipment and technical expertise in a shared environment.
According to CT NOFA, Equipment Share days at The Hickories will feature services such as free soil analysis, seed winnowing, nut cleaning, compost tea brewing workshops, and additional offerings. The organization said the equipment available through this program is made possible by donations from CT NOFA supporters. Funding for technical experts was provided by member and supporter Dan Levinson.
“CT NOFA is proud to announce the launch of our Equipment Share Program,” the organization said. “In partnership with The Hickories Farm in Ridgefield, Connecticut, this program aims to provide both commercial farmers and home gardeners free access to both specialized equipment and expertise in a shared environment.”
