A resident of New Britain, Connecticut, recently became a millionaire after winning $1 million in the CT Lottery’s 200X scratch game. The winning ticket was purchased at a Stop & Shop in Newington, located at 44 Fenn Road.

The woman, who regularly plays the 200X scratch game, discovered her win during a routine grocery shopping trip. With her newfound wealth, she plans to retire early alongside her husband. The Stop & Shop will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

The game has overall odds of 1 in 3.21. It is important to note that purchasers must be 18 or older, and support is available for those experiencing problem gambling through a hotline or website.

The Connecticut Lottery Corporation (CLC) operates as a quasi-public state agency, aiming to generate revenue for the state with integrity and social responsibility. In fiscal year 2024, lottery players won over $1.1 billion in prizes, and retailers earned more than $85 million in commissions. The CLC contributed $387 million to the state’s General Fund in support of services such as education, infrastructure, and public health. Since 1972, the CT Lottery has returned more than $11 billion to Connecticut residents.

Lottery players must be at least 18 years old, with a minimum age of 21 for sports wagers. Help for gambling issues is available through a helpline and the website ccpg.org.
