The Superior Court of Connecticut announced on May 6 that the Sentence Review Division will hold hearings at the Middletown courthouse, located at 1 Court Street, on April 28, 2026. The session is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. in courtroom 5-1.
The notice states that all applicants, their attorneys, and guardians ad litem for minors must be present remotely and will have an opportunity to be heard. Attorneys are advised that failure to appear or secure a continuance through the Secretary of the Sentence Review Division may result in sanctions under Connecticut General Statutes section 51-84.
The court also requests advance notification if an interpreter is needed for any case. According to the announcement, cases will be reviewed under Connecticut General Statutes section 51-196. The Sentence Review Division has authority to increase, decrease, modify or affirm original sentences as part of its review process.
A list of applicants with their respective defense counsel and case numbers was provided in the assignment notice. Some cases require interpreters or note judicial recusals. Several matters have been continued or rescheduled for future dates throughout late 2026 and into early 2027.
Inclement weather announcements related to the Middlesex Judicial District Courthouse will also apply to these hearings. The Sentence Review Division can be contacted at its Wethersfield office for further information.
