The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is preparing to replace the bridge carrying Route 67 over Little River in Oxford. The project aims to construct a permanent bridge at the site of Bridge No. 05879, which currently has a temporary structure following damage from a rainstorm in August 2024.

The design phase is expected to conclude by November 2026, with construction planned for spring 2027. This timeline depends on project approval, funding availability, and necessary permits. Funding will be sourced from both federal (80%) and state (20%) contributions.

CTDOT emphasizes public involvement in such projects and encourages community feedback. For inquiries or comments, individuals can contact Andrew Cardinali, Principal Engineer, at (860) 594-3315 or via email at Andrew.Cardinali@ct.gov, referencing Bridge No. 05879.
