Connecticut plans milling and paving on bridges across southwestern routes

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is preparing to mill and pave 14 bridges along Route 15, Route 22, and Route 34 in Southwestern Connecticut. This project is part of a statewide bridge preservation program aimed at repairing bridge decks to extend their service life and maintain the structures in good condition.

The project includes removing the existing bridge overlay and membrane, making necessary repairs to the bridge deck, applying new membrane and overlay, and replacing bridge joints.

A list of the bridges involved in this project includes:

– Bridge No. 00693: Route 15 over PRVT Access Road and Brook in Greenwich
– Bridge No. 00694: Route 15 over Converse Pond Brook in Greenwich
– Bridge No. 02137: Route 15 over Abandoned Bridle Pass in Greenwich
– Bridge No. 05653: Route 15 over Riversville Road in Greenwich
– Bridge No. 02215: Route 22 over Brook in North Branford
– Bridge No. 02216: Route 22 over Brook in North Branford
– Bridge No. 02217: Route 22 over Brook in North Branford
– Bridge No. 05787: Route 22 over Muddy River in North Haven
– Bridge No. 00760: Route 15 over Route 110 in Stratford
– Bridge No. 00761: Route 15 over Housatonic River and Metro North Railroad in Stratford
– Bridge No. 00762: Route 15 over State Road 796 in Milford

The design phase is expected to be completed by August2025 with construction anticipated to begin inthe springof2026 subjectto acceptanceoftheproject availabilityoffundingandreceiptofanyrequiredright-of-wayandenvironmentalpermits.Theprojectwillbeundertakenwith100%statefunds.

CTDOT emphasizes its policy of keeping the public informed about such projects and encourages community involvement to address concerns during development.
