The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) has scheduled an in-person public information meeting regarding the replacement of Bridge No. 04764, which carries East Putnam Road over Cady Brook. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 10, at 5:00 p.m. at the Putnam Municipal Complex, located at 200 School Street. The venue is ADA accessible.

The purpose of the meeting is to give residents and community members a chance to comment or ask questions about the proposed bridge replacement project. A question and answer session will follow the presentation. More details about the project are available at portal.ct.gov/DOTPutnam0115-0124.

“This project will replace the existing hydraulically deficient structure and provide a new resilient replacement structure that will increase the safety of all travelers,” said Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager Michelle Rame. “We encourage the public to attend this meeting to share their feedback with the CTDOT project team to incorporate into the design.”

Temporary construction easements affecting private properties are expected for access, grading, and water handling during construction.

Construction is projected to begin in 2028, depending on funding availability, right-of-way acquisition, and permit approvals. The estimated cost for construction is about $4 million, with funding anticipated to be split between federal (80%) and state (20%) sources.

CTDOT provides accommodations for individuals with hearing or speech disabilities through Telecommunications Relay Services by dialing 711. Those wishing to receive mailed information can contact Michelle.Rame@ct.gov within one week after the meeting.

Language assistance services are available by contacting CTDOT’s Language Assistance Call Line at (860) 594-2109 at least five business days before the event; these services are provided free of charge.

Public comments and questions may be submitted during a two-week period following the meeting via DOT-FLBP@ct.gov, (860) 594-2020, or directly to Michelle Rame at Michelle.Rame@ct.gov or (860) 594-3319 until Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Correspondence should reference Project No. 0115-0124.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation manages transportation policies across Connecticut through bureaus focused on engineering, operations, planning and administration while offering services such as traffic updates and infrastructure grants according to its official website. Safety initiatives remain a priority for CTDOT as it works toward maintaining an efficient intermodal network that supports economic growth statewide.
