The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will hold a hybrid public information meeting about planned improvements to Exit 46 on Route 15 in New Haven and Woodbridge. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., with an inclement weather date set for February 10. Both in-person and Zoom attendance options are available, and registration is required.
The purpose of the meeting is to give residents and community members a chance to comment or ask questions about the proposed project. A presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session. Instructions for accessing the meeting and submitting feedback can be found at portal.ct.gov/DOTNEWHAVEN0092-0689.
Jeffrey Pfaffinger, CTDOT Project Manager, stated: “The installation of acceleration and deceleration lanes on Exit 46 will improve safety, mobility, and connectivity on Route 15, and the immediate connections with Route 69 and Route 63. The project also proposes to relocate the existing Route 15 northbound on-ramp to a new loop ramp. We encourage the public to attend this meeting to share their feedback with the CTDOT project team to incorporate into the design.”
The proposed improvements involve one full property acquisition and two minor acquisitions. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2028 if funding is secured, rights of way are acquired, and permits are approved. The estimated cost of construction is approximately $90 million; federal funds are expected to cover 80% of costs while state funds will provide the remaining 20%.
