The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is set to hold a virtual public information meeting on July 29, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. regarding the installation of centerline rumble strips on Route 10 (Main Street) in Farmington. The session aims to provide the community an opportunity to comment or ask questions about the proposed project.
The meeting will be conducted via Zoom, and participants must register in advance. A question and answer session will follow the presentation, which will also be recorded. Details for accessing the meeting and submitting comments can be found at https://portal.ct.gov/DOT2025CLRS-Farmington.
“Centerline rumble strips are a low-cost, proven safety countermeasure that alert drivers when they drift out of a lane, reducing head-on collisions and roadway departure crashes,” stated Balazs Szoke, Project Manager at CTDOT. He added that public feedback is encouraged to help incorporate suggestions into the design.
Construction is expected to commence in 2026 with an estimated cost of approximately $7,000. The project will be funded entirely by state resources. No right-of-way impacts are anticipated from this initiative.
