The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced on Apr. 15 that it is developing plans to rehabilitate Bridge No. 01586, which carries Route 313 (Broad Street) over the Naugatuck River in Seymour.
The project will either rehabilitate or fully replace the existing bridge structure to bring it into a state of good repair. The design phase is scheduled for completion by September 2029, with construction expected to begin in spring 2030, pending project approval, funding availability, and receipt of necessary right-of-way and environmental permits. Funding for the project will be provided through an arrangement of 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds.
