The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) has announced the 2025 Transportation Showcase, titled “Keeping Connecticut Moving– The Future of Transportation.” This event is scheduled for Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at the Connecticut Science Center in Hartford from 8 to 10 a.m. Interested individuals can register for free by visiting the registration page.
The showcase will focus on the essential role public transportation plays in strengthening communities and supporting businesses. It aims to highlight opportunities arising from federal and state infrastructure investments that could transform Connecticut’s transportation system into a more accessible, efficient, and sustainable network.
Arthur Guzzetti, Vice President of Mobility and Public Policy for the American Public Transportation Association, will be the keynote speaker. Attendees can also expect networking opportunities and breakfast during this two-hour event.
A panel session will explore the future of transportation in Connecticut, covering topics such as federal funding and specific projects like bus fleet electrification, microtransit updates, and rail developments. The discussion will address how these initiatives benefit businesses, residents, and communities.
Catherine Shen from WNPR’s Where We Live will moderate the panel. Panelists include Marian Andoh-Clarke from the Hartford Chamber of Commerce; Garrett Eucalitto from CTDOT; Matt Hart from Capital Region Council of Governments; and John Truscinski from The Connecticut Institute for Resilience & Climate.
Benjamin Limmer, Bureau Chief of Public Transportation at CTDOT stated: “The Transportation Showcase will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators to explore how infrastructure investments will shape the future of transportation in Connecticut.” He added that enhanced public transit could drive economic growth while fostering stronger communities and a more sustainable state.
