The showcase aims to highlight how transportation decisions affect daily life, economic growth, and community development across Connecticut. According to the official website, the Connecticut Department of Transportation provides a safe and efficient intermodal transportation network that improves quality of life and supports economic vitality statewide according to the official website.

Attendees will hear from leaders in both public and private sectors about current initiatives and future investments in transportation. Jeffrey Gonneville, Bureau Chief of Public Transportation at CTDOT, said, “Transportation shapes daily life. It connects people to work, school, health care, and essential community resources. The Transportation Showcase brings public and private partners together to share progress, highlight innovation, and ensure our transportation investments deliver real benefits to residents, businesses, and communities across the state.”

The event includes networking opportunities as well as two moderated panel discussions: “Transportation Is Changing. Here’s What’s Next,” moderated by NBC Connecticut’s Andrew Rowan; and “How Transportation Is Powering Connecticut’s Economy,” moderated by Catherine Shen from Connecticut Public. Scheduled panelists include Jill Cahoon (AECOM), Chris DiPentima (Connecticut Business & Industry Association), Garrett Eucalitto (CTDOT Commissioner), Matt Hart (Capitol Region Council of Governments), Yvette Highsmith (Community Health Center Inc.), Dr. Eric Jackson (Connecticut Transportation Institute), Carlos Mouta (Parkville Market), and Jeremy Tillunger (Via).

According to its official website the department maintains its headquarters in Newington while managing transportation services throughout Connecticut. It promotes safety through initiatives such as work zone awareness campaigns and supports community infrastructure via grant programs according to the same source. Garrett Eucalitto serves as commissioner overseeing these policies statewide according to the department.

CTDOT encourages attendees to use public transit for travel; Parkville Market is near Parkville CTfastrak Station with complimentary bus passes available upon request for event participants.
