The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced on Apr. 8 that it will hold two virtual public information meetings about the Connecticut 2055 Long-Range Transportation Plan on Wednesday, April 22 at noon and at 6:00 p.m.
The meetings are intended to give residents a chance to comment or ask questions about the draft long-range transportation plan. Both sessions will be held via Zoom, require registration, and include a presentation followed by a question and answer period. The same material will be covered in both meetings, which will also be recorded. More details on how to access the meeting or submit comments can be found at portal.ct.gov/LongRangeTransportation.
The Connecticut 2055 Long-Range Transportation Plan outlines goals, performance measures, policies, and investments for developing the state’s transportation system over the next three decades. “Connecticut is growing and people’s travel needs are changing. Connecticut 2055 reflects this reality and ensures safety and mobility remain the top priority. Whether someone drives, uses public transportation, walks, or bikes, that trip must be safe and convenient,” said Connecticut Department of Transportation Commissioner Garrett Eucalitto. “Connecticut 2055 is a transformative plan that will drive economic growth, connect our communities, and enhance lives through a forward-thinking, multimodal transportation system. I encourage the public to join us, hear from our team, and share their feedback as we shape the future of transportation in Connecticut together.”

The department maintains its headquarters in Newington but manages statewide operations including an intermodal network designed to improve quality of life as well as support economic vitality according to its official website. Eucalitto currently serves as commissioner overseeing these policies according to CTDOT. CTDOT services extend throughout all regions of Connecticut as noted online while programs foster community connectivity through grants alongside contractor engagement opportunities according to its official site.
